Over the years, an ever growing number of parents recognize the benefit of providing their children with proper safety gear when riding bicycles. Bicycle accidents cause far too many injuries among our youth. Now the Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of more than 30,000 bicycle helmets after tests showed that the helmets pose a safety risk.
San Francisco bicyclist severely injured in Mission District accident
A San Francisco bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in an early morning bicycle accident Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officials say the 22-year-old rider was crossing a street in the Mission District around 2:00 a.m. when he was struck by a taxicab. Authorities say the cab driver ran a red light just before the tragic San Francisco bicycle accident.
Children of Bryan Stow not allowed to join suit
A Los Angeles judge has ruled that the Children of Bryan Stow cannot take part in a lawsuit by their father, against the LA Dodgers after he was nearly beaten to death in a parking lot following a game. Stow, a Giants fan, was attacked outside of Dodger Stadium after the season-opening game March 31, and suffered life threatening brain injuries. Stow is suing the Dodgers under the theory that the team cut back security, despite being aware of the dangerous condition of the parking lot, which was the site of previous assaults.

For many people, the beginning of baseball season is a sure sign that summer is fast approaching. Recently, San Francisco Giants fans broke out their orange and gold to celebrate their team's season opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Some dedicated fans even made the pilgrimage down to Dodgers stadium to cheer on their team in person.
